I live happily in the East End of Newcastle Upon Tyne, England with my beautiful wife and a demanding cat called Gin.
In my private time I continue my passion for all things IT and you can find me most evenings sitting behind my PC or laptop working on a project of some description. At the moment I am working on a PHP/SQL based comics logging and auction tool although with the demands of full time work this is taking a lot longer than I had hoped!
I am a fan of most forms of writing but spend most of my reading time wading through my growing collection of Marvel/DC comics which stands at well over 4,500 right now. My favourite character by far is Captain America and I'm missing less than 100 issues of his series to complete the run of comics spanning back to 1964. Yes, I am Comic Book Guy :-)
I love to travel (not so keen on the flying part though!) and in recent years I have been to far flung locations such as Cuba and Canada but by far the highlight was my honeymoon in the Maldives where 2 weeks felt like a lifetime.
I am a life long supporter of Newcastle United so know all about disappointment on a weekly basis. I was a season ticket holder until recently and am proud to say that I was there when Shearer broke the record against Portsmouth and also for his testimonial which was a unique experience.
My long term dream is to emigrate to Canada and own my own digital media business but for the next 5 years, I would like to move back into a Web Development post within a progressive and innovative company.
Time permitting I would also love to go back to University and complete an MSc in System Design for Internet Applications or even take my learning to the PhD level.
